Merakey is seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist in Lafayette, LA to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The role focuses on individual therapy, group facilitation, and creating treatment plans to support recovery.

The ideal candidate will hold a Louisiana credential (LAC/CAC/PLPC/LMSW or CIT), possess a valid LA driver's license, and be prepared for comprehensive clearances. Salary offers hourly pay with an annual mileage stipend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or another human service related field.
• Licensure or certification in Louisiana: LAC/CAC/PLPC or LMSW (or Counselor In Training).
• Valid Louisiana driver's license and the ability to obtain state/federal clearances.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and recovery-driven service systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual substance abuse therapy and facilitate groups for ACT team members.
• Create and review person-centered treatment plans and crisis plans as required.
• Complete annual substance use assessments and maintain timely clinical documentation.
• Apply Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction strategies in treatment.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery goals.
