Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a compassionate Substance Use Specialist (IOP Facilitator) for our Whiteville, NC outpatient clinic. The role includes screening, assessment, treatment planning, IOP coverage, and providing therapeutic services to both adults and children with substance use needs.

You will facilitate group therapy, collaborate with clinical teams and referral sources, and support clients through aftercare planning and community referrals under clinical supervision.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of therapeutic practices and group facilitation techniques.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and support clients in times of distress.
• 2 years of experience in Substance Use services and related settings.

Your Role in Our Mission:

As a Substance Use Disorder Specialist (CADC or LCASA), you will provide screening, assessment, treatment planning, IOP coverage, and therapeutic services to adults and children with substance use needs. This role involves facilitating group therapy, collaborating with clinical teams and referral sources, and supporting clients through aftercare planning and community referrals. The SUD Specialist also ensures accurate documentation, supports crisis intervention, and promotes a safe, therapeutic environment. Services are provided under clinical supervision.

What We’re Looking For:

• Skills: Knowledge of therapeutic practices, group facilitation techniques, as well as problem-solving and de-escalation in times of crisis.
• Licensure/Certification: CADC required or Provisional Licensure preferred: LCAS-A
• 2 years of experience in Substance Use services.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy.
• Valid driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation for work-related travel.
