Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a compassionate Substance Use Specialist (CADC or LCAS-A) to deliver screening, assessment, treatment planning, and IOP coverage in our outpatient clinic. You will work with adults and children, facilitate group therapy, coordinate with clinical teams, and support clients through aftercare and community referrals under clinical supervision.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in Substance Use services.
• CADC certification required; LCAS-A provisional licensure preferred.
• Valid driver's license, insurance and transportation for travel.

Responsibilities

Your Role in Our Mission

As a Substance Use Disorder Specialist (CADC or LCASA), you will provide screening, assessment, treatment planning, IOP coverage, and therapeutic services to adults and children with substance use needs. This role involves facilitating group therapy, collaborating with clinical teams and referral sources, and supporting clients through aftercare planning and community referrals. The SUD Specialist also ensures accurate documentation, supports crisis intervention, and promotes a safe, therapeutic environment. Services are provided under clinical supervision.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour for a CADC | $49,000 and up for LCAS-A.

What We’re Looking For:

• Knowledge of therapeutic practices, group facilitation techniques, and problem solving and de-escalation in times of crisis.
• Licensure/Certification: CADC required | Provisional Licensure preferred: LCAS-A.
• 2 years of experience in Substance Use services.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or technically savvy.
• Valid driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation for work-related travel.
