Job summary

WestCare in Lincoln, IL is seeking a Clinical Counselor to provide a range of substance abuse treatment services to clients in the program. You will conduct client assessments, develop individual service plans, and deliver curriculum-based groups addressing relapse prevention, motivation for treatment, and stages of change.

Qualifications

• CADC certification required within two years of employment.
• Hold clinical CADC certification from IAODAPCA, or meet requirements within two years.
• Not work in supervision until CADC requirements are met.
• Work under supervision of licensed staff and sign ethics code.
• Background check and OIG LEIE clearance essential.
• CPR certification, first aid, and TB test required.
• Intake and assessment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessment of each client with required assessment tools.
• Initiate and sustain motivation to participate in treatment using engagement techniques.
• Develop a comprehensive service plan with client input and treatment goals.
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based groups on TC concepts, relapse prevention, and stages of change.
• Assist clients in developing self-help groups such as AA/NA.
• Maintain client treatment files following agency policies; ensure confidentiality.
• Submit weekly client data for entry into WestCare database.
• Attend required staff development trainings and cross-training.
• Embrace WestCare mission; perform other duties as assigned.
• Obtain and maintain CPR, first aid, and TB test certifications.
