Job summary

WestCare Foundation, Inc. seeks a Certified Counselor to deliver substance abuse treatment within Sheridan Correctional Center. You will assess clients, develop service plans, and lead daily groups on relapse prevention and recovery concepts.

The role requires clinical licensure or CADC, with 2 years of relevant experience, strong documentation habits, and ability to work in a correctional setting. A bilingual candidate is preferred, with background checks and required clearances.

Qualifications

• Clinical Certification required (CADC, LPC/LCPC, physician, psychologist or social worker license) and continuing education requirements.
• Two years of experience in alcohol and substance abuse counseling.
• Bilingual ability preferred.
• Background check, OIG LEIE clearance, pre-employment drug screening required.
• CPR/First Aid may be required and ability to obtain Illinois Department of Corrections clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical substance abuse treatment to clients.
• Complete client assessments and develop comprehensive service plans.
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups on recovery concepts.
• Assist clients in forming self-help groups (AA/NA).
• Maintain confidential client records and ensure proper documentation.
