Brattleboro Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Brattleboro, Vermont, is part of Acadia Healthcare's network and leads medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder with compassionate counseling.

The Substance Use Counselor delivers high-quality care through individual and group sessions, creates treatment plans, documents progress, and coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team, fostering recovery and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or be enrolled in an Associate’s degree program.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social or health services field preferred.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings (outpatient, residential, or correctional).
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone.
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation experience per state/federal guidelines (clinical notes, treatment plans, progress updates).
• Familiarity with state regulatory standards (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission).
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team with medical staff, case managers, and peer support.

Responsabilités

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient’s recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is timely and clear.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine referrals to other programs or facilities.
• May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide case management duties ensuring individualized quality care.
• Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients.
