Brattleboro Comprehensive Treatment Center, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Substance Use Counselor to support opioid use disorder treatment through individual and group counseling. This full-time role in Brattleboro, VT includes early morning hours and a collaborative team environment.

The counselor will conduct assessments, plan and document treatment, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate referrals, with emphasis on evidence-based practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or enrolled in an associate program.
• Prefer Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social/health services.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with MAT: methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone.
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI and relapse prevention.
• Documentation experience per state/federal guidelines.
• Familiarity with 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Provide high quality, compassionate individual and group counseling.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely documentation of care, treatment and incidents.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate needs and refer to other programs when needed.
• May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Perform case management to ensure quality care.
• Act as liaison between referral sources and patients.
