Job summary

Groups in Rockwood, TN, is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to lead daily group therapy sessions and participate in member-centered care teams. The role is based in Rockwood with a full-time schedule, Monday through Thursday, and a salary range of $55,000–$65,000.

The counselor will facilitate evidence-based group sessions, coordinate with prescribers and care navigators, document outcomes, and contribute to a recovery-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the mental/behavioral health field.
• Active or under supervision to obtain credentials: MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, LADAC 2.
• Experience leading Group Therapy.
• Proficient with EMR, Telehealth, and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence-based curriculum.
• Facilitate group discussions using a plug-and-play approach from approved modalities within the clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the mental/behavioral health discipline.
• Active or currently under supervision to obtain the following credentials: MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, LADAC 2.
• Experience leading Group Therapy.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
