Job summary

Groups Recover Together is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to lead group therapy sessions at our Knoxville/Rockwood area locations. You will be part of a member-centered care team delivering evidence-based group sessions and documenting outcomes for progress tracking.

The role requires a Master’s degree in mental/behavioral health and active supervision for relevant credentials. Strong technology skills and a compassionate, collaborative approach are essential for success in our mission-driven

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mental/behavioral health is required.
• Active or under supervision to obtain credentials: MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, LADAC 2.
• Experience leading Group Therapy essential.
• High comfort with technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products, mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and a focus on member success.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using an evidence-based curriculum.
• Facilitate group discussions using a plug-and-play approach within clinical framework guidelines.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the mental/behavioral health discipline.
• Active or currently under supervision to obtain the following credentials: MFT, LMFT, LPC, LPC-MHSP, LMSW, LCSW, LADAC 2.
• Experience leading Group Therapy.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
