Job summary

City of Maypearl is seeking a Subrogation Specialist to assess claims and identify liable parties, with a focus on recovering funds from third-party sources. You will communicate with members, insurers, and uninsured parties in writing and verbally.

The role requires a BA/BS in a related field and at least one year of related experience. Licensing in Property/Casualty is preferred; strong MS Office and Guidewire skills are valued.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in business, insurance, risk management, or related field required.
• 1 year of experience in subrogation, liability, property claims, or workers’ compensation claims.
• Property/Casualty license preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assesses subrogation viability and evaluates potential responsible parties.
• prepares notices and demand letters to third-party carriers and uninsured parties.
• Responds to Letters of Representation from claimant attorneys.
• Communicates status and outcomes to Member contacts.
• Reviews dockets to identify follow-up actions and escalate when needed.
• Negotiates settlements with carriers and responsible parties.
• Processes recoveries and deductible reimbursements.
• Prepares cases for closure or litigation.
