Job summary

Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool is seeking a Subrogation Claims Specialist to assess subrogation viability, identify liable parties, and determine insurance coverage to recover funds. You will interact with members, insurers, and third parties to drive favorable outcomes.

The role requires a BA/BS in a related field, 1 year of subrogation or claims experience, and an active adjuster license.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business, Insurance, Risk Management or related field.
• 1 year of experience in subrogation, liability, property or workers’ compensation claims.
• Active Insurance Adjuster License is required.
• Property/Casualty license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess subrogation viability and identify responsible parties.
• Prepare notices and demand letters to carriers and uninsured parties.
• Respond to representation letters from claimant attorneys.
• Communicate case status to member contacts.
• Review dockets to identify escalation needs and follow-up actions.
• Negotiate settlements with carriers and other parties.
• Process recoveries and deductible reimbursements.
• Prepare cases for closure or possible litigation.
• Handle recovery checks and related documentation.

Education

BA/BS in Business/Insurance

Insurance Adjuster License

Property/Casualty License (preferred)

Equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted
