We also welcome applications from candidates with prior experience and may consider placement at a higher level based on qualifications and relevant subrogation experience.Job Overview:This position is responsible for the investigation, negotiation and recovery of subrogation claims with appropriate supervision while working within specific limits and authority on assignments of low complexity. Coordinates with insureds, claimants, insurance representatives and attorneys during the pursuit of subrogation to maximize fair recoveries through negotiations. The selected candidate will start out in a role mainly focused on reviewing and preparing new subrogation files for demands to be sent. As experience is gained, and as opportunities present, they would then be transferred into a role focused on handling a backlog of pending subrogation matters. Excellent customer service and communication skills with our customers is expected.Responsibilities:Evaluate liability and damages to assess subrogation potential including consideration of jurisdiction regulations. Identify responsible party/parties and contribution potential. Review and determine the best course of recovery.Negotiate subrogation recoveries with carriers, responsible party(s), and other legal representatives through means of direct negotiation, intercompany arbitration, or other necessary methods. Promptly and aggressively recover payout.Update appropriate parties as needed, providing new information as it becomes available and an analysis of the impact on the liability and recovery options.Maintain diary systems to manage files in a timely manner; documenting key activities in a clear and concise manner.Manage expenses on assigned files to assure cost effective resolution, including legal expenses on litigated files.Maintain favorable working relationships with claim offices.May be called upon to handle other duties as required.The individual selected for this position may have varying responsibilities based on their prior knowledge and experience.Schedule:The 37.5-hour schedule will be Monday through Friday between the core hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5 p.m., with the potential to work holidays and a few Saturdays per year.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent education requiredRequired to obtain state insurance licenses as needed and meet continuing education requirementsStrong organizational, file management and time management skillsAttention to detail and ability to prioritizeExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong decision-making skills and ability to handle conflicts or deal with difficult situationsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentPrior subrogation knowledge and experience is a plusKnowledge of Excel, Word, OutlookPursue additional insurance designationsTotal RewardsMedical, dental, vision coverage for single or family, short- and long-term disability, and life insurancePaid Vacation – you will receive at least 13 vacation days in the first 12 months, amounts could be greater depending on the role.
