Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of writing experience OR military experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, and publish system level and component level technical descriptions and procedures for all submarine classes.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, technical illustrators, and supervision to develop descriptive chapters, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals for nuclear submarines.
  • Develop interactive electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) using state-of-the-art publishing software; ensure accuracy and ownership across all stages.
  • Read and interpret fluid and electrical system diagrams, ship construction drawings, equipment drawings, and vendor manuals.
  • Maintain attention to detail and quality throughout development to support the Navy's mission.
