General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to design, develop, test, and deliver electrical systems for the US Navy's submarines. You will work on system diagrams, interfaces, and cableways, ensuring installation to plan.

The role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with construction and operations, and maintaining procedures for testing and maintaining electrical systems.

Formación

• Requires AS degree in electrical engineering or related background.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Level Clearance.
• 10+ years of submarine shipbuilding and/or service experience.

• Develop and review changes to electrical system diagrams including system interfaces
• Evaluate electrical cableways design and routing drawings
• Troubleshoot issues identified by construction team
• Write procedures to test and maintain electrical systems
• Interface with internal customers to ensure the system is installed to plan
• Work with operations to support installation and test
• Emphasis on mentoring junior personnel
• Review and mentor junior engineers

Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as a few other variables. Qualifications

Required

• Minimum Associate of Science degree in electrical engineering or engineering degree with related electrical background
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Level Clearance
• 10 or more years of submarine shipbuilding and/or service experience

Preferred

• Prior defense contractor systems engineering experience
• Former submarine service
• Shipyard/manufacturing experience
