Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD seeks a dynamic Systems Engineer to maintain and improve essential infrastructure for performance assessments of U.S. Navy submarine systems.

Qualifications

BS degree in systems engineering, computer science, or related field, or certs with equivalent experience.
5+ years systems engineering experience with SDLC, hardware infra mgmt, software dev practices.
Experience with Linux- and Windows-based systems, data visualization, large-scale relational databases, and networks.
Strong communication and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Orchestrate an internal team of developers and admins to build and maintain infrastructure across multiple classification levels.
Lead development of holistic engineering solutions balancing resources, priorities and sustainment.
Assist program management with technical project planning and best practices.
Maintain systems and processes supporting data processing and tactical systems.
Collaborate in planning and execution of system performance assessment events.
Advise teams to ensure test scope and analysis requirements are appropriate.
