Job summary

Serco seeks an experienced Submarine Shipbuilding Improvement Engineer/Analyst to support the NAVSEA Team Submarine programs. The role focuses on accelerating efficiency, safety, and quality in submarine construction, working with cross-functional teams across the shipyard and Navy offices.

The candidate will apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, manage improvement projects, analyze data, and drive rapid, measurable changes while maintaining DoW Secret clearance and collaborating with stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of submarine construction experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Team player able to collaborate across functions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% (DC area travel possible).

Responsibilities

  • Identify, plan, and implement improvement initiatives for efficiency, safety, and productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from conception to completion within scope and budget.
  • Capture and analyze data to support continuous improvement decisions.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve quality.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, QA, and other departments.
