Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Kingstown, RI seeks a Systems Engineer I/II to support VIRGINIA class submarine construction at EB Quonset Point. You will resolve design issues, provide manufacturing support, and help manage as-built configurations with Navy interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or higher) completed by May 2027.
• 0-5 years of professional engineering experience following degree completion.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assisting trade personnel to overcome construction problems and facilitating /implementing design and process improvements
• Adjudication of technical issues encountered during construction
• Interpreting design/drawing/specification requirements
• Providing clear and timely direction and/or evaluation to Quonset Point trades via disposition of Engineering Reports (ERs) and TIR UNSATs.
• Performing engineering calculations for as-built configurations
• Interfacing with trade personnel, management and on-site Customer (Navy) representatives
