Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks an Entry Level Engineer - Fluid Systems in Groton, CT. You will support design and development of submarine fluid systems for VIRGINIA class and SSN(X), from concept through ship delivery, with hands-on engineering and project involvement.

The role covers hydraulic, life support, HVAC, seawater and gas systems, requiring strong fundamentals in fluid engineering, technical writing, and teamwork; occasional travel and potential rotation across related

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in mechanical, aerospace, chemical, marine, or fire protection with thermodynamics/fluid dynamics/heat transfer coursework.
0–1 years of related engineering experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
Some travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute projects supporting VIRGINIA Class and SSN(X) design efforts, design changes, and system improvement tasks.
Develop initial system and component requirements; perform pressure drop, flow, heat load, and stress analyses.
Create and review system diagrams/drawings; select materials and equipment; resolve design/construction issues.
Manage budgets, schedules, and interfaces; communicate with internal/external customers.
