Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Rhode Island is seeking a VIRGINIA Class Construction Support Engineer – Electrical to provide technical leadership for electrical construction activities on VIRGINIA Class submarines at Quonset Point. The role focuses on resolving design issues, supporting manufacturing operations, and verifying as-built configurations to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
• Experience with submarine systems and deck-plate engineering construction support is preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Desktop, Team Center and JCALs.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for electrical construction activities for VIRGINIA Class submarines at EBQP.
• Resolve design issues and troubleshoot construction problems; support manufacturing operations.
• Verify and certify as-built dimensions and configurations; implement process improvements.
• Communicate engineering assessments with Operations/Trades, Planning, and ship’s management.
• Relay shipyard priorities to appropriate engineering groups.
