Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat's Manufacturing Engineering group is seeking an engineering technical assistant with submarine operations experience to support fixture procurement and tracking across Electric Boat locations. The role emphasizes coordinating design development, procurement, and delivery of fixtures to keep construction on schedule.

You will work with Operations to document fixture requests, participate in shipyard production meetings, and help foresee procurement needs to avoid

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years submarine construction, test, operations, maintenance, or related maritime/military contracting operations.
• 1+ years in Operations, Engineering, or Procurement / Supplier Management.

Responsibilities

• Align and track the scheduled design development, procurement, delivery, condition, implementation, refurbishment, and movement of all Fixtures.
• Coordinate with Operations to document requests for new, emergent fixture needs.
• Represent the department at shipyard production meetings.
• Early recognition of the need for multiple Fixture procurements to accommodate overlapping construction spans.
