Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a Design Yard engineer to analyze and troubleshoot construction issues during deck fabrication and outfitting for VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA class submarines. You’ll provide technical resolutions for a wide range of complex construction challenges, with focus on welding and NDT standards and structural concepts.

Based in the Steel Fab Focus Factory in Florence, SC, you will interface with trades, foremen, and engineering teams to develop timely solutions while

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering.
1-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
Exposure to NX/Team Center is preferred.
Military/Navy experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of MRP, Electronic Desktop, Team Center and PCM is desirable.
Prior ship-checks experience in an industrial environment is advantageous.
Experience with FEA is desirable.
