Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Submarine Technician to join the Portsmouth, NH team. The role covers installation, testing, and certification of ISIS and RADAR systems on submarines, with DoD procedures and NAVSEA guidelines. Civilian engineers provide support on a range of electrical and mechanical tasks to ensure mission readiness.

Applicants must hold an Active Secret clearance or be able to obtain one, with 5 years of related experience or a relevant degree and 3 years. Travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

• Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
• High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and three (3) years experience.
• Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of Submarine C5I systems/equipment.
• Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
• Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, and service ISIS and RADAR equipment and systems at various Naval locations.
• Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems.
• Review change proposals for equipment impacts.
• Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
• Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
• Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
• Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures.
• Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
