Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Submarine Sonar Technician (ARCI / Multi‑Platform) in Portsmouth, NH to support NAVSEA and DoD teams with installation, testing, maintenance, validation, and certification of ARCI sonar systems aboard U.S. submarines.

This role requires an Active Secret clearance, Navy C School or equivalent training, 5+ years of related experience, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a willingness to travel 10–15%.

Qualifications

• Active Secret US Government Clearance required.
• Navy C School or equivalent training plus 5+ years related experience.
• Strong communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and software.
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions for operational hardware/software.
• Ability to travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, validate, and service sonar equipment and ARCI systems aboard U.S. submarines.
• Execute test and evaluation, system check-outs, certifications, and verifications.
• Review Engineering Change Proposals for impacts.
• Assist in implementing Engineering Change Instructions.
• Develop PMS documentation, manuals, troubleshooting guides, and test reports.
• Provide SME support to systems engineering efforts.
• Train others on operation, maintenance, and performance.
