Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is offering a Docking Operations Engineering Summer Internship. This immersive program provides hands-on exposure to submarine engineering and collaboration with senior engineers during the Summer 2027 season.

You will work closely with a Docking Engineer to update maintenance manuals, draft correspondence with government stakeholders, and publish maintenance cards under supervision. The internship requires 8 weeks at 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Ocean Engineering.
• Available to work 40 hours per week for 8 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Must be 18+ and US citizen; able to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist Docking Engineer with updates to maintenance manuals and drawings.
• Draft and manage correspondence with external government stakeholders.
• Modify and publish preventative maintenance cards as directed by Docking Engineer.
• Ensure all correspondence complies with company reference documents.
