Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT offers a Docking Operations Engineering Summer Internship for college students to gain practical exposure in the defense industry alongside senior engineers.

As an intern, you will work with Docking Engineers across departments, update maintenance manuals and drawings, draft correspondence to government stakeholders, and learn by contributing to maintenance card publications while under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university.
• At minimum students must have completed their Freshman year prior to start.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight weeks May–Sept 2027.

Responsibilities

• Update and revise maintenance, technical manuals and drawings with Docking Engineer.
• Draft, track and manage correspondence with external government stakeholders.
• Modify and publish preventative maintenance cards as advised by Docking Engineer and team.
• Ensure all correspondence complies with company reference documents.
