Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is offering a Summer Internship in the Columbia Design & Engineering program. Interns will support program management tasks, interface with multiple departments, and contribute to design and engineering efforts for Navy submarines.

A strong mentoring environment and hands-on exposure await in Groton or New London locations. You must be enrolled full-time in a construction, manufacturing, or engineering degree and able to commit 40 hours per week for eight weeks in

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university and have completed freshman year.
• Available to work 40 hours per week for 8 consecutive weeks (May–Sept 2027).
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering disciplines (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Naval Architecture).

Responsibilities

• Assist with program management tasks across Columbia Design & Engineering scope: planning, contracts, procurement, and life-cycle engineering.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, planning, contracts, and purchasing teams.
• Contribute to design and engineering activities and share solutions with program office leadership.
