Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. seeks a D441 Test Engineer to plan and execute Combat and Weapons Systems and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems test programs on submarine platforms.

You will collaborate with shop crews, trades, engineering, ships management, and government personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and timely test evolutions. A high school diploma, ability to obtain a Secret clearance, and at least two years' experience in shipboard construction or testing are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Secret security clearance (ability to obtain/maintain).
• Minimum two years experience with shipboard construction, testing, and/or operation/familiarity with combat and weapons systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute test programs for combat and weapons systems.
• Qualify and perform duties of Shift Test Director per NAVSEA standard.
• Ensure safety and re-entry control procedures are in place and adhered to.
• Authorize prerequisites before tests commence.
• Evaluate data for conformance to procedures and specs.
• Review test results post-testing for completeness and accuracy.
• Conduct effective shift turnover to maximize cross-shift continuity.
• Document, publish, and troubleshoot test hold ups and non-conformances.
• Interact with trade personnel, ships management, engineering, and government personnel.
