Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. seeks a D441 Test Engineer to plan and execute tests of Combat and Weapons Systems and Non-Propulsion Electronics on submarine programs.

The role works with D278 Electronics Technicians in shop and shipboard settings, ensuring safety and compliance with NAVSEA procedures. The ideal candidate will hold a High School diploma, be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance, and have at least two years of shipboard testing experience, preferably with Ohio,

Qualifications

• Must have ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate good personal and personnel management skills.
• Excellent task management and communication skills to coordinate and direct integrated test evolutions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute Combat and Weapons Systems and Non-Propulsion Electronics Systems tests.
• Qualify as and perform duties of Shift Test Director per NAVSEA standards.
• Conduct job hazard analysis briefs to ensure safety of personnel and equipment.
• Ensure proper safety and re-entry control procedures are in place and followed.
• Certify prerequisites before tests and review test data for conformance.
• Document, publish, and troubleshoot test hold ups and non-conformances.
• Coordinate with trade personnel, ships management, engineering, and government personnel.
