Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to support the Navy’s VIRGINIA Class program at the Washington Navy Yard. The role focuses on evaluating designs, reviewing submittals, and coordinating with NAVSEA and SITs to resolve technical issues.

The successful candidate will have an active Secret clearance, a relevant engineering degree with 5 years of experience, and strong communication skills to brief senior leaders and manage customer engagements. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics, or related discipline and 5 years of experience.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to brief senior leaders.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support PMS450 evaluation of proposed designs and arrangements.
• Review technical submittals and provide assessments with input from stakeholders.
• Lead technical discussions for project reviews and prepare formal briefings.
• Act as liaison with PMS450 team members and NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holders.
• Manage program status updates and resolve technical issues with SITs.
• Lead NAVSEA Ship's Silencing Working Group and conduct audits/ship checks.
• Primary customer contact; regularly update the customer on project status.
