Job summary

Synchron, LLC is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to join the Acoustics Systems Integration Team at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. You will support the VIRGINIA Class Submarine program office with technical management of acoustic products and contribute to naval defense and sailor safety.

The role involves coordinating with NAVSEA and technical leaders, reviewing engineering documentation, and helping ensure compliance with submarine acoustics requirements.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5 years' experience.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Experience briefing senior leaders.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support evaluation of proposed designs and arrangements.
• Maintain expert knowledge of ship specification sections and ISO interpretation.
• Review technical submittals and provide assessments and options with pros/cons.
• Liaise with TWHs and Naval Reactors for assigned systems.
• Assist in de-conflicting viewpoints and program constraints.
• Co-lead NAVSEA Ship's Silencing Working Group and conduct audits/shipchecks.
• Manage commitment updates/status and facilitate timely decisions.
• Lead technical discussions for project reviews and briefings.
