Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to support PMS450 within the Navy Submarine program, providing technical and programmatic support from the Washington Navy Yard area. The role emphasizes collaboration with Navy teams to advance acoustic design, verification, and lifecycle management.

The candidate will maintain expert knowledge of ship acoustics and participate in technical discussions, brief senior leaders, and coordinate with NAVSEA TWHs, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, physics, technical or related field with 5 years of experience.
• Excellent communications and analytical skills; able to brief senior leaders.
• Proficient with MS Office products i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support PMS450 evaluation of proposed designs and arrangements.
• Maintains expert-level knowledge of ship specification sections and interpretation of technical requirements and verification of program compliance.
• Reviews technical and engineering submittals, providing assessments of issues/recommendations and options with pros/cons.
• Liaises with the 'Red-Box' TWHs and 08 for systems under cognizance.
• Assist the SDMs/DSDMs/MAITs in de-conflicting differing technical viewpoints and program constraints.
• Co-leads NAVSEA Ship's Silencing Working Group and conducts audits/shipchecks to validate as-built configuration.
• Manage commitment updates/status.
