Job summary

Southern-California-Hospital seeks a Sub Acute Charge Nurse to lead daily unit operations, supervise RNs/LVNs/CNAs, and coordinate resident care. You will participate in planning and delivering age-appropriate care, ensuring clinical practice standards, and mentoring staff for quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include plan of care development with physicians, effective communication with the care team, and strict adherence to infection control and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• AHA Basic Life Saving (BLS)
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• One year nursing experience
• PALS and Pediatric experience for Foothill Campus only
• Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only)
• Understanding of patient classification and staffing requirements

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily unit operations and assigns staff based on patient needs and staff competencies.
• Supervises RNs, LVNs, and CNAs; provides input for coaching, scheduling, and discipline.
• Develops and implements plan of care with treating physicians; monitors patient condition and coordinates care.
• Collaborates with physicians and team members to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Maintains infection control and HIPAA compliance; supports staff education and discharge planning.
