Job summary

Southern California Hospitals seeks an Urgent Care/EMS Standby Charge Nurse to lead the unit, assign staff, and ensure high‑quality patient care during shifts. You will supervise RNs, LVNs and CNAs, manage complex clinical tasks, and support discharge planning in a fast-paced environment.

You must hold an active CA RN license with BLS/ACLS/PALS, have strong English communication, and demonstrate leadership and adaptability in urgent care settings.

Qualifications

• Active, current, unencumbered California RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum one year nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• EMTALA/ESI5 awareness or ED training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily unit operations, assigns staff and monitors acuity.
• Supervises RNs, LVNs and CNAs; ensures safe, high‑quality care.
• Directs medications, IVs, monitoring and procedures per standards.
• Maintains HIPAA/compliance and coordinates with care team.
• Supports discharge planning and staff development.
