Qualifications

• Active California RN license.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Flexibility and composure in a changing environment.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
• Understanding of patient classification and staffing requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Minimum one year nursing experience.
• Management of Assaultive Behavior Certification on start date.

Responsibilities

• LEADERSHIP: Supervise RNs, LVNs, and Mental Health Workers and provide input to House Supervisor on staffing and patient care.
• PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL PRACTICE: Coordinate unit operations, ensure acuities are complete and coach staff.
• PLAN OF CARE: Assess patient conditions, guide plan of care with treating physicians and document outcomes.
• COLLABORATION: Work with physicians and healthcare team to coordinate care and educate on treatment plans.
• COMMUNICATION: Demonstrate empathy and effective communication with patients, families, and team.
