Job summary

ArchCare is seeking a part-time hair stylist at our York Avenue location in New York City. You will help clients choose their ideal haircut and hairstyle, perform haircutting techniques (trim, layers, texturizing), and apply color methods such as highlights, ombre and balayage, plus styling finishes from blowouts to updos.

You will upsell products and services, build lasting client relationships, keep a clean, sanitized station, and follow all salon policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for eligibility.
• Active New York cosmetology license required for practice.
• Geriatric setting experience is a plus but not required.

Job Description

• Performs haircoloring methods, such as highlights, ombre, and balayage.
• Styles hair, including blowouts, curls, braids, ponytails, and updos.
• Upsells clients on products and services.
• Develops ongoing relationships with clients.
• Keeps a clean station and sanitizes all tools.
• Follows all salon policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of accredited beautician program.
• An active cosmetology license in New York is required.
• A Minimum of one year- Experience in a geriatric setting is a plus.
