Job summary

Coastal Carolina University is seeking an Education Abroad Student Worker to assist the Center for Global Engagement (CGE). Under the general direction of an administrator, you will advise students about Education Abroad opportunities and provide program support.

This position is 10 hours per week, with occasional evenings or weekends. Responsibilities include presenting study abroad options, helping with applications, deadlines, and credit transfer, and maintaining program information and

Qualifications

• Must be an active CCU student.
• Interest in study abroad, preferred prior study abroad experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of long term and short term study abroad programs and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

Responsibilities

• Educates students regarding study abroad opportunities including CCU sponsored programs and Third Party Providers programs (Application Process, Deadlines, GPA Requirements Eligibility, General Financial Information, Course Approval Process)
• Represents EA at tabling events, education abroad expo, in study abroad 101 sessions, and classroom presentations.
• Assists EA coordinator with written materials regarding program descriptions, financial aid, credit transfer and academic considerations as well as facts sheets for EA.
• Collects, catalogs, updates and distributes data base information regarding study abroad programs; maintains library of such information.
• Creates and maintains mailing list information of interested study abroad participants and approved study abroad participants both ST and LT.
• Distributes information about the Center for Global Engagement ( CGE ) to students.
• Performs office related duties as required.
• Working some evenings/weekends may be required.
