Job summary

Binghamton University’s Office of International Education and Global Initiatives is hiring an Education Abroad Advisor. You will provide professional administrative and programmatic support for education abroad programs, coordinate logistics, advise students, and promote study abroad opportunities.

Responsibilities include recruiting participants, guiding applicants through applications, editing materials, arranging on-site details, and representing IEGI at campus events.

Qualifications

  • Experience studying, working, or living abroad.
  • Documented public speaking and presentations experience.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends and travel domestically/internationally.
  • Valid driver's license to operate a vehicle in NYS.
  • Preferred: at least two years in higher education and advising experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate education abroad program logistics with IEGI, IEGA, partner institutions, faculty, and campus offices.
  • Recruit and advise potential participants, guide applicants through the process, and edit program materials.
  • Develop on-site arrangements, research logistics, and maintain the program emergency plan.
  • Conduct pre-departure orientations for each program within the portfolio.
  • Represent IEGI at campus events and provide front desk support as needed.
