Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington's Office of the Vice President for International Affairs is seeking an Education Abroad Advisor to support IU Education Abroad programs and student participants. You will provide academic counseling, advise on costs, and help students select international opportunities.

The role requires a Master's degree, 2+ years in student affairs or academic advising, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field.
  • 2 years in student affairs, teaching, academic advising, or related field.
  • Experience in a student-focused, higher education environment is highly desired.
  • Preferred: 3 years in student affairs, teaching, academic advising, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provides academic counseling for students pursuing or considering majors, minors, or certificates.
  • Meets with students in groups and 1-on-1 to guide academic programs.
  • Assists students in making informed decisions about majors and career directions.
  • Teaches navigation of university systems, processes, and policies.
  • Refers students to campus resources and monitors progress.
  • Represents advising in campus meetings and recruiters events.
  • Researches and promotes best practices for unit and campus initiatives.
