Position Overview
Effective for the 2025-2026 school year, two (2) vacancies exist for trades‑specific Student Workers for facilities maintenance within the Administrative Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Selected candidates will assist facilities staff with hands‑on troubleshooting, repairs, and/or replacement at various campuses. Successful candidates must currently be enrolled at one of our TCHS campuses.

Qualifications
- Current student in the TCHS program through CCIU (required)
- HVAC, electrical occupations, or carpentry trades preferred
- Student enrolled in senior year preferred
- Clerical skills, including word processing, typing, data entry, and proofreading
- Recommendation and permission from high school guidance office
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in routine performance
- High energy and motivation level
- Comfortable delivering and receiving constructive/critical feedback
- Sharp critical thinking skills with sound judgment
- Strong organization, prioritization, time management, and follow‑through
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to meet demands from several people and to multi‑task
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Organizing and coordinating skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide trades‑specific support to the lead Technician and other Facilities staff as needed
- Support clerical duties for Facilities Technician and Buildings and Grounds Supervisor when required
- Back‑up clerical support in the Facilities as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation
$14.00 per hour
Schedule
Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
