Position Title

Student Worker - Admissions Mount Ambassador - Tour Guide (Work-Study or Non-Work Study)

Overview

The Office of Admissions serves as the first point of contact between the university and prospective students and their families. A Tour Guide represents Mount St. Mary’s University positively and enthusiastically to the campus community and visitors, sharing the unique experience at the school.

Responsibilities

• Understand and always be an outstanding reflection of the values of Mount St. Mary’s University to community members and visitors.


• Conduct tours of main campus.


• Effectively communicate the benefits of attending Mount St. Mary’s University to prospective students.


• Greet prospective students and families upon arrival on campus.


• Assist with professional outreach to prospective students in the form of writing postcards.

Position Requirements

• Must be a current, full-time student.


• Be friendly, outgoing, and a team player.


• Work flexible hours, including select weekends and evenings.


• Ability to understand and present essential information about the college.


• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while making a positive impression on prospective students and their parents.


• Strong communication skills preferred.


• Attend a mandatory monthly staff meeting.

Salary and Hours

Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland. Students will work between 2 and 4 hours a week. Hours are not guaranteed, but schedules will be coordinated to avoid conflicts with classes or sports. Full-time/Part-time: Part time.
