Job summary

Serrato Corporation in Little Rock, AR seeks a Trainee Employee Assistance Program professional to develop and implement a substance use prevention and education program for students. You will assess, intervene, counsel, and provide relapse prevention and healthy lifestyle education.

Responsibilities include delivering presentations, coordinating annual prevention activities, collaborating with center staff, maintaining health records, and training staff on alcohol and other drugs issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Knowledge of counseling techniques and substance abuse interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide a minimum of a 1-hour interactive presentation on substance use prevention for all new students during the Career Preparation Period.
• Schedules and conducts at least three annual center-wide substance use prevention and education activities.
• Participates in clinical consultation with Center Director and management staff regarding substance use prevention efforts.
• Reviews Social Intake Form or intake assessment within 1 week of arrival.
• Collaborates with the Center Mental Health Consultant to determine appropriate interventions.
• Provides individual and group intervention services focusing on employability barriers.
• Develops and monitors student intervention plans and documents progress in health records.
• Conducts ongoing counseling and support groups introducing self-help for intervention students.
• Works with CMHC and other staff to integrate intervention components across the Center.
• Updates intervention plans with input from counselors and Student Personnel Officer.
• Collaborates with recreation department to develop leisure time activities reinforcing an alcohol-free lifestyle.
• Maintains liaison with community intervention resources and referrals.
• Assists in compiling quarterly reports for National Health Service submission.
• Conducts staff training on alcohol and other drugs annually.
