Job summary

Serrato Corporation seeks a dedicated counselor for the Trainee Employee Assistance Program to support substance use prevention and health education for students.

The role involves developing interventions, delivering presentations, collaborating with health staff, and ensuring documentation and compliance with program policies.

The successful candidate will conduct assessments, provide individual and group sessions, coordinate with CMHC, and refer students to community programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in the state where the center is located.
• Valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the Trainee Employee Assistance Program for prevention and education.
• Provides a minimum of a 1-hour interactive presentation on substance use prevention for all new students during the Career Preparation Period.
• Schedules and conducts at least three annual center-wide substance use prevention and education activities.
• Collaborates with the Center Mental Health Consultant to determine when a MSWR or medical separation is appropriate and should be recommended for a student with substance use conditions.
• Provides individual and group intervention services with a focus on behaviors that represent employability barriers.
• Maintains liaison with community intervention resources and establishes appropriate referrals.
