Job summary

Bourke High School is seeking a dedicated Student Support Officer to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes within the school community. You will work with the wellbeing team and counselling service to provide targeted support and participate in school-wide wellbeing initiatives.

The role collaborates with external agencies to create referral pathways for students and families, contributing to a supportive environment for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students alike.

Qualifications

• A completed diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare or related discipline attached with your application.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies.
• Valid and current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and whole-of-school wellbeing initiatives.
• Collaborate with external agencies and create referral pathways for students and families to child and family support services.
