Job summary

Grayson College seeks a Peer Tutor to provide tutoring under the supervision of the Testing, Tutoring and Disability Services office. Qualifications

• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 on an accredited college transcript and earning a 4.0 in any course to be tutored.
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
• Work involves listening to obtain information, explaining information and concepts, building relationships, and encouraging students to persist.
• Tutors must communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students in assigned subjects (90%).
• Participate in tutor training sessions as part of the tutor certification program (5%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (5%).
