Job summary

Grayson College, located in Denison, TX, seeks a Peer Tutor to support the Testing, Tutoring and Disability Services office. The position is restricted to current GC students and starts at $15.00 per hour.

The tutor will work 3–15 hours weekly, tutoring students in designated subjects, and will participate in tutor certification training, with duties extending to other tasks as needed. A background check is required.

Peer Tutor:

Role: Provides tutoring under the supervision of the office of Testing, Tutoring and Disability Services.

***This position is only open to current Grayson College students.***

This position starts at $15.00 per hour.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• 90% Tutors students in assigned subjects.
• 5% Participates in tutor training sessions as part of the tutor certification program.
• 5% Performs other duties as assigned.

• Tutors must communicate effectively in English.

Work Schedule:

Tutors work a minimum of 3 hours per week. Tutoring sessions are scheduled according to tutor and student availability. Generally, tutoring occurs during the hours that Testing/Tutoring Center is open. Tutors may not work more than 15 hours per week.

This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
