Job summary

First Student is hiring a Field Supervisor for Student Transportation in New Orleans, LA. The role supports the Contractual Manager, supervising daily operations, monitoring driver performance, and addressing safety issues to ensure reliable student transportation services.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. DOT safety rules apply, and prior school bus driving experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• DOT drug testing and physical; safety regulations apply.
• Prior School Bus Driver experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors driver pre and post trip inspections and equipment issues and takes corrective action.
• Performs driver road checks and observes drivers for work readiness.
• Performs IPP Safety contacts with drivers; corrects safety violations on the scene.
• Dispatches and drives routes as needed.
• Assists management with driver interviews.
• Monitors on time performance
