First Student is hiring a Transportation Assistant Manager to supervise daily operations, monitor performance, and address safety concerns in Zachary, LA. The role supports the Contractual Manager and ensures on-time route coverage and efficient dispatch.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of transportation experience and 2–3 years of supervisory experience, with strong MS Office skills and a willingness to work extended hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of transportation experience.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiar with basic vehicle maintenance.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends.
• Must have a vehicle to travel within service area.

Responsibilities

• Ensure home-to-school routes are covered timely and efficiently.
• Interface with drivers regarding concerns and performance issues.
• Investigate client complaints and coordinate resolutions.
• Ensure achievement of on-time performance goals.
• Monitor driver safety and perform Injury Prevention contacts.
• Assist Contractual Manager with review of union grievances.
• Ensure dispatch staff assigns spare drivers and buses for on-time coverage.
• Audit and correct athletic trip invoices per company guidelines.
