Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Student Counseling Department and related student training support functions.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Student Training Counselors, Student Planners, and the Graduate Yard Coordinator to ensure high-quality student support.
  • Partner with the Director of Driver Training to develop and execute student success, retention, engagement, and training completion strategies.
  • Monitor student progression through all training phases and coordinate timely intervention when challenges arise.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for student issues, concerns, complaints, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes, policies, and best practices for student engagement and completion milestones.
  • Collaborate with Driver Trainers, Training Safety, Recruiting, Operations, and other departments to strengthen communication and enhance the student experience.
  • Analyze retention, completion, progression, and satisfaction metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development discussions with direct reports.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation of student interactions, concerns, action plans, and resolutions.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, communication, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present departmental performance reports, trends, and recommendations to the Director of Driver Training.
  • Identify opportunities to improve student experience and increase training completion rates.
  • Coordinate student planning and graduate yard activities to support an organized transition through training milestones.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Driver Training.
