Job summary

James Madison University Libraries seeks a qualified Student Coordinator to join the Library & Information Services team. The role will co-supervise roughly 50–60 student employees and focus on developing and delivering effective student training across Rose and Carrier Library service points.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Access & User Services and emphasizes a student-centered, welcoming environment with opportunities for professional growth and cross-training among LIS

Responsibilities

• Co-coordinate student employment for Carrier and Rose Library Service point operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and offboarding, for approximately 50-60 student employees.
• Lead development and maintenance of student employee training, including policies and procedures documentation.
• Utilize instructional design best practices and educational technologies to design an impactful training program.
• Assess training efforts and collaborate to identify improvement areas for staff.
• Cross-train and back up core functions of other coordinators.
• Provide direct user support through Ask the Library service points.
• Support the AUS-LIS team through cross-training and backup of duties.
• Pursue professional development and scholarly/service activities.
