Job summary

James Madison University Libraries seeks a qualified Student Coordinator to join the Library & Information Services (LIS) team within the Access & User Services (AUS) department. The position shares responsibility for co-supervising student workers and will focus on student employee training.

The successful candidate reports to the Director of Access & User Services and collaborates with LIS, AUS, and Music teams to provide welcoming, high-quality service at Rose and Carrier Library service

Responsibilities

• Co-coordinate student employment for library service points (50–60 students).
• Lead development and maintenance of student employee training.
• Develop policies and procedures documentation.
• Utilize instructional design principles and educational technologies to design training.
• Assess training and identify improvement areas with AUS coordinators.
• Cross-train and backup core functions of other Student Coordinator.
• Provide direct user support at Ask the Library service points.
• Support LIS team through cross-training and backups.
• Pursue professional development and service activities.
